Position Summary :
The Individual Gift Fundraiser identifies, cultivate s , solicit s and steward s gifts from individuals at all levels. S/he is r esponsible for designing and implementing an annual giving program and interfacing with donors and prospecti ve donors. The Individual Gift Fundraiser is responsible for advancing supporters through the pipeline and cycle of philanthropy , as well as meeting specific annual revenue goals and contributing to the overall ac hievement of the Foundation. The In di vidual Gift Fundraiser m anages and solicits an active portfolio of approximately 75-100 donors and prospective donors to ensure that they are inspired by the Foundation’s mission and engaged in sup! porting the organization.

Duties and Responsibilit! ies :

  • Identif ies , research es , and manage s a portfolio of 75-100 $1,000+ p rospects and monitor s all prospect contacts to ensure positive and purposeful relations; set s and carr ies out solicitation strategies for these prospects
  • Coordinate s with other Foundation staff to identify major gift prospects within the current and prospective donor pool s
  • Create s and articulate s the Case for Support so that individual donors engage and support the mission
  • Design s and implement s effective tailored cultivation, solicitation and stewardship plans for donor
prospects in the assigned portfolio , utilizi ng a Moves Management approach
  • Write s proposals, follow-up letters, and introductory letters, and prepare s background information
and materials for cultivation and so licitation activities as needed
  • Design s and implement s individualized stewardship plans for donors which position t! hem for future solicitations
  • Develop s strategic marketing materials
  • Assists Foundation Manager in preparation of Annual Fund Plan
  • Prepares and manages budget for major gift plan
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications :
  • Three to five years experience with fundraising and individual gifts
  • Bachelor’s Degree r equired, preferably with an emphasis or degree in Business or Communications
  • Demonstrated ability to prospect, cultivate and manage new accounts ; develops trust & builds relationships
  • Proven ability to solicit and close gifts/donations
  • Experience in database management and development research techniques are required ; familiarity with iMIS fundraising software preferred
  • Previous experience in volunteer management is essential
  • Detail - oriented with excellent interpersonal, organizational , oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to! work independently and also with a team
  • Strong computer skill! s in MS Office including word processing, spreadsheets, data entry, and database management
  • G ood judgment and discretion with confidential information
  • Ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced office and work with multiple priorities and deadlines with accuracy
  • Able to fulfill responsibilities with high standards in customer service and support of AORN’s and the AORN Foundation’s mission
  • Ability to demonstrate and hold others accountable for organizational values of: communication, quality, innovation and collaboration
Working Conditions:
Non-smoking office environment, using a computer, telephone and other office equipment daily. Ability to travel to Association - related meetings throughout the year. This position requires the ability to work some evenings and weekends as necessary.
