Licensed Registered Nurse in CO or Compact State Required!
2 years of experience as an RN required
REPORTS TO : Manager, Hospice Care Center
SUPERVISES : Supervises certified nursing assistance in the delivery of care.
SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
1. The registered nurse is responsible for providing patient care to assigned patients within the life span of all ages.
2. The registered nurse uses the nursing process to provide individualized care to patients and their families in the Hospice Care Center.
QUALIFICATIONS
- RN with current Colorado licensure; BSN preferred graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- One year Hospice or three years of medical/surgical, oncology, or comparable hospital experience.
- Valid Colorado driverâs license and unlimited access to reliable transportation if RN is to work in the community based arena.
- Adequate automobile insurance if working in the community based arena.
- Abili! ty to set priorities and follow through.
- Participates! in weekend rotations, and holiday coverage. Will be able to flex time periodically as staffing dictates.
- Excellent clinical skills as documented in recent employment.
- Reads, writes and speaks English in a manner that can be understood by others.
- Medium Work â" exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally (i.e. up to 1/3 of the time) to move objects, including the human body. Frequent walking and standing.
- Standing/Walking â" must stand/walk frequently and intermittently to accomplish tasks. May also choose to stand while completing clerical duties.
- Lifting â" must frequently raise objects, including the human body, from a lower to a higher position or move objects, including the human body, horizontally from position to position.
- Pushing/Pulling â" must frequently use upper extremities to push and/or pull objects, including the human body, in a sustained motion.
- Stoopi! ng/Kneeling/Crouching â" must frequently stoop, kneel, or crouch during the provision of patient care.
- Balancing â" must maintain balance, which is necessary for ordinary locomotion and body equilibrium.
- Sitting â" may also choose to sit while completing clerical duties.
- Reaching â" must frequently reach during the provision of patient care.
- Fingering/Grasping â" must occasionally finger and/or grasp objects, including the human body, during the provision of patient care.
- Feeling â" must occasionally touch objects, including the human body, to perceive attributes such as size, shape, temperature, or textures.
- Talking â" must frequently exchange information in person and on the telephone to patients, doctors, family members, and co-workers by means of spoken word.
- Repetitive Motions â" must occasionally use upper and/or lower extremities in a repetitive motion, including blood pressure cuff, writing, and ! driving.
- Sensory Needs â" must possess those senses necessary! for communication, patient assessment/treatment, and driving, including sight and hearing.
