Simulation provides multidisciplinary evidence ! based simulation education. At the Western Region simulation facility, we provide the environment, equipment, staff and support to allow our employees to learn and safely practice Banner Health's routine standards of clinical care, as well as rarely done and/or complex procedures which improve performance and patient care with a focus on high-risk and high liability skills reducing liability and the cost of patient care. Our goal is to standardize our education and training and improve quality, learning and the clinical knowledge and performance of the employees and clinicians we serve. We do this by providing valuable simulation based experiential learning in a safe and controlled environment with measurable outcomes. Services are provided by department staff working in conjunction with subject matter experts from the clinical areas. Our learners include Physicians, Residents, Nurses, and other allied healthcare providers in the hospital setting.

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for the management and operations of the simulation center under the oversight of the director. This position requires a broad range of skills in multiple complex areas of operations and work flow, in addition to clinical experience and skills. It requires skills and competence in operations, finance, administration, clinical care, clinical education using simulation techniques and knowledge, simulation-based research, multi-tasking, independent decision makin! g, problem resolution and the independent management of multiple projects.
Essential Functions
Manages and coordinates all operational efforts of the simulation center while supporting and assisting all clinical, research, educational, and financial activities. Provides administrative and operational support to the simulation center director.
Assists in the development and implementation of short, intermediate, and long-term teaching, research, and revenue-generating goals for the simulation center.
Assists with simulation-based research efforts, using scientific research techniques.
Coordinates all course curriculums and educational materials for various departments, skill levels and training needs. Develops and provides all users with debriefing and orientation to principles of simulation training. May perform training when needed.
Coordinates simulation training programs with internal and external staff to ensure efficient operation of the si! mulation center. Prepares the center for all courses and educational ex! ercises.
Operates the simulation center in a cost-effective manner and participates in the preparation, organization, and management of the center’s financial budget and procurements.
Oversees all aspects of the operation, maintenance, support, trouble-shooting, and repair of all of the center and associated equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
Must possess strong clinical and business knowledge as normally obtained through the completion of a master’s degree in nursing, healthcare, business, or related field.
Requires current licensure in a clinical field such as nursing, speech pathology, respiratory, medical imaging, or related clinical area.
Must possess a strong knowledge and understanding of acute care and business operations as normally demonstrated through a minimum of 10 years experience in acute care and administrative, operational and business settings with leadership experience. Must have solid working knowledge of the applicability! of simulation training to clinical care of patients. Requires experience in medical education and clinical research as well as working knowledge of the current state of literature in simulation training in healthcare. Requires extensive organization and time management skills and the ability to multi-task, work under pressure and reliably meet deadlines. Requires strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to effectively interact with a wide range of clinicians, administrators and staff.
Must have the ability to anticipate supply and equipment needs. Requires the ability to assess equipment failures and remedy such failures in a timely fashion. Must have an aptitude for using advanced computer software simulators, virtual reality and computerized mannequins.
