UCH’s Acute Care of the Elderly unit is a 21-bed unit that is NICHE designated (“Nurses Improving Care of Health system Eldersâ€.) Nurses here provide care primarily to elderly patients with medical problems. In addition we care for an overflow of medical surgical patients who are not over the age of 65. The typical nurse to patient ratio is 1:4 on days and 1:5 on nights.
Our candidate has:
Graduation from an accredited school, BSN preferred
Current CO RN licensure or able to obtain one, and current AHA BLS
At least 1 year of experience in an acute, inpatient hospital setting
Previous experience with medicine and geriatric patients
CMSRN and/or Gerontological Nurse Certification a plus
