Overview:
Purpose Statement/Position Summary
The Program Specialist is responsible for day-to-day oversight for department-specific research projects. Full-time, in-person position, and weekend availability with benefits. Serves as a resource for study team members and principal investigators and assists with subject recruitment, data collection, scheduling of study-related activities and follow-up with enrolled subjects. The Specialist will direct and coordinate program activities to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within the estimated time period and in compliance with CHLA or other relevant agencies policies. Under supervision of the Program Manager or Program Administrator, will monitor program workflows, engage community partners, and ensure desired program outcomes are achieved.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Recruiting and enrolling families to participate in research
  • Assisting families in the completion of the research protocols
  • Maintenance of office files
  • Coordinating research protocols and procedures (i.e. data collection, survey completion with families)
  • Working some weekends
  • Processing research specimen (training provided)

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:
2+ or more years managing small to medium programs and teams based in non-profit, healthcare or academic settings.
Familiarity/comfortable working with medically ill children, adolescents and their families
Strong communication and writing skills
Ability to prioritize workload and ensure confidentiality
Ability to work independently and apply critical thinking skills
Ability to organize and effectively process and maintain records and files
Ability to plan and organize detailed projects with multiple tasks and deadlines

Education/Licensure/Certification:

Bachelor's degree in a related field. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
Pay Scale Information: USD $46,800.00 - USD $84,364.80

Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
