Job Summary:
This position supports the mission of Presbyterian/St Luke's Medical Center of providing innovative and comprehensive care to patients and their families. As the leader of the Women's and Children's Services and the Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children this position promotes quality family-centered care through all phases of maternal and child care. The ACNO identifies and ensures high standards of care are met by every discipline in every unit across the facility. This position supports nursing in carrying out the Nursing Strategic Plan including the successful Magnet journey. This position supports the continued growth of the Maternal-Fetal Program, the NICU and the Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children.
Responsible for planning and managing resource requirements for obstetric, neonatal and pediatric nursing departments. Collaborates with senior management to allocate resources in a manner that optimizes the hospital's performance according to the strategic plan. Primary responsibilities include staffing (retention, recruitment, education), planning physical bed capacity and staffed bed capacity to meet projected needs, ensuring profitability of service lines, identifying capital equipment needs, and patient safety/quality. Responsible for operations of assigned departments and the integration of the service within overall hospital functions. Knowledgeable of healthcare trends and integrates into strategic planning for department(s). Accountable for the implementation of an effective and continuous program to measure, assess and improve performance. Assures a high level of customer satisfaction. Must be willing to assume twenty-four hour responsibility for patient care and a leadership role with the health care team in planning and delivering patient care.
This position reports to the Chief Nursing Officer. This position supervises the Director of Women and Infants' Services and the Nurse Managers of Pediatrics and Pediatric Intensive Care. Responsible for the Pediatric and Obstetric Standards of Nursing Care across the organization. This position is responsible for over 250 FTEs and over $25 Million in expenses.
Requirements:
Current licensure in the state of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, BLS certification required BSN required. Master in Nursing, Nursing Administration or business related degree required. Minimum of three to five years progressive management in maternal or pediatric nursing required. Experience in a Children's Hospital preferred
