Supervises and directs all staff sales activities in a major metropolitan market that serves multiple facilities and districts (cluster market). Responsible for ! increasing skilled market share with the objectives of being the #1 skilled provider in the market and exceeding budgeted census and payer mix.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Communicates regularly with DDSMs and RVPO on the progress of sales efforts. Maintains utilization logs of referrals that resulted from sales activities responsible for census development at Sava facilities within the cluster market.

Conducts ongoing training of external and internal staff in conjunction with the VP of Sales Training & Development.

Develops strategic plans for the cluster market that identify key customers who refer patients to company facilities. Identifies preferred provider networks that are needed to drive sales and profitability.

Responsible for improving payer mix net revenue.

Ensures 100% achievement of assigned sales targets.

Motivates team to achieve set conversion objectives.

Identifies current custo! mers that have established referral relationships and assists ! to maintain these relationships by solving issues and concerns.

Develops and implements strategies to obtain new customers who can refer patients to the cluster facilities.

Supervises Nurse Liaisons and facility sales staff to ensure appropriate time management practices and obtaining of results from sales and assessment activities.

Conducts, plans and organizes joint calls with sales staff in collaboration with DDSMs.

Develops an account management system among various facilities within multiple districts to ensure all facilities are receiving and converting referrals to paid census. Advises DDSMs of conversion issues, problems, and opportunities that cannot be resolved at the facility level.

Reviews business development priorities with the DDSMs.

Reviews census management practice guidelines, analyzes trends, and takes action to avert deterioration of skilled and long-term market share.

Assists with the develo! pment of marketing plans for facility and/or district staff for promotion of census development.

Ensures that all Sales Reports and MPGs are accurate, timely, and used effectively.

Responsible for relationship development and management of external liaisons with facility sales staff and referral sources. Develops and maintains relationships with key referral sources including physicians and managed care organizations and sources new business.

Anticipates and eliminates potential conflicts between facility teams and referral sources.

Makes recommendations to alter strategies as market conditions change.

Markets the facility's services to the managed care industry through one to one and group presentations.

Works closely with the Regional Director of Managed Care to promote utilization of current and existing managed care contracts.

Assists with district and facility training on managed care utilization and is ava! ilable as a resource to facilities to address managed care questions an! d issues.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field.

Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in health care sales management, long-term care sales and marketing with proven results in building census.

Experience managing a multi-facility environment.

Public relations experience preferred.

Knowledge and Skills

Knowledge of analyzing current sales techniques and revising techniques to increase market share.

Knowledge of account management system set-up and monitoring.

Demonstrated interpersonal and organizational skills in the areas of verbal and written communications, facilitation, coaching and development, and team building.

Excellent listening, assessment, questioning and problem-solving skills.

Excellent customer service skills required in creating, maintaining and enhanci! ng customer relationships.

Strong technical writing skills.

Familiar with medical terminology.

Superior presentation skills - both one-on-one and group.

Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
