Centra Healthcare Solutions is seeking an experienced Charge OR Nurse (RN) that is licensed or in the immediate process, and qualifies, of obtaining RN licensure in this respective stat! e to work in the specialty area of the Operating Room (OR).
The Charge Nurse demonstrates advanced knowledge, skills and understands the unique aspect of the population served in the care of his/her patients. Each service also requires specialized skills. The delivery of care is based on the physical, psychosocial, cultural, safety and learning needs of the individual patient. The Charge Nurse may rotate to areas other than his/her assigned service area/s, and will perform only those duties for which he/she has demonstrated competency. The Charge Nurse performs delegated duties consistent with the scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care delivery at the hospital. The Charge Nurse Role incorporates all of the RN position as above, and includes the additional responsibilities of directing shift operations with schedules, assignments and coordination of resources.
Requirements include:
Must have graduated from an ac! credited school.
Current state license as a Registered Nur! se (RN) or willing to obtain licensure in another state, assuming that all pre-requisites have been satisfied.
Current CPR certification.
Current BLS card.
2 years of professional nursing experience in the OR is preferred.Duties and Responsibilities
Assesses patient needs, signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient's condition
Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care
Collects, analyzes, and interprets data and information from health care members and documents actual and/or potential nursing diagnoses.
Documents the patient's plan of care using identified nursing diagnoses, expected patient outcomes, and selected nursing interventions.
Provides a safe, comfortable and therapeutic patient environment.
Initiates and evaluates patient and/or family education.
Revises and documents the plan of care according to evaluation, changes in medical plan of care, and ! effective/ineffective nursing interventions.
Monitors the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
