Job SummaryColorado Christian University is currently looking for qualified instructors to become affiliate faculty.

The University's faculty is a group of experienced professionals who are able to integrate their! evangelical Christian faith in the classroom and help discipl! e the next generation of Christian leaders. The Associate Nursing Instructional Personnel (ANIP) works under the direction and supervision of the Nursing Faculty in assisting students in laboratory and/or clinical experiences to meet the specific nursing goals and learning outcomes. The ANIP, in collaboration with nursing faculty, is responsible for instruction and evaluation of student performance in laboratory and/or clinical settings. The role of the ANIP is to assist students in applying knowledge and skills to care for patients and clients.

The ANIP is physically present and immediately accessible to students in the laboratory or clinical setting. The ratio of ANIP to student shall not be more than 1:10. Duties and ResponsibilitiesInstruct, supervise and assess nursing students in skill/simulation laboratory setting and/or clinical settings to strengthen and reinforce their nursing skills and competencies in care of patients and clients. Plan and provide effec! tive skills/simulation laboratory or clinical experiences that reflect and understanding of the program's philosophy, objective and curriculum.Plan, maintain and implement an environment conducive to teaching and learningUtilize a variety of teaching strategies, including technology, to correlate and enhance skills/simulation laboratory and/or clinical experience.Instruct students in safe nursing care, professional competency and clinical reasoning.Identify learning needs of individual students and plan experiences to meet those needsAssess student achievement of course objectives/learning outcomes related to nursing knowledge and practiceTeach skills/simulation competencies and attitudes necessary for safe and effective patient careCommunicate with nursing faculty and students relating to student performance, progress and concernsProvide ongoing feedback and grade assignments in a timely mannerAttend orientation and training sessions as directed by nursing faculty, the Dir! ector of Skills/Simulation Education and the Director of Clinical Educa! tionKeep educational records as requiredActively participate in curriculum development and course evaluation and revisionMaintain competency in area of specialty An active license in good standing to practice as a registered nurse in Colorado.A Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree is required.A minimum of two years of full time, or equivalent, professional nursing practice.A minimum of one year of clinical experience relevant to the area of responsibility.

Nature of Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, you may be required to walk or stand in the laboratory or patient care settings for up to 12 hours at a time, communicate with students agency staff and nursing faculty and exhibit positive coping mechanisms in stressful situations. Working irregular hours, including weekends, evenings or nights is expected. Local travel is expected. Grading assignments may involve extended periods of time at a computer keyboard or workstation.
