University of Colorado Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nurse Educator for our expanding inpatient Pulmonary Unit. UCH has been ranked 11 th in the nation by U.S. News & World Report for treating respiratory disorders. Through our partnership with National Jewish Health (ranked the #1 respiratory hospital in the nation) our Inpatient Pulmonary nurses care for nationally referred patients with complicated pulmonary diseases including pulmonary hypertension, cystic fibrosis, and those undergoing thoracic surgery and other pulmonary procedures.
This unit also supports our Cystic Fibrosis Center and Pulmonary Hypertension Center, which are some of the largest, leading centers in the U.S. and the world. Our nurses work alongside Colorado’s only board-certified thoracic surgeons, who specialize in airway reconstruction, minimally invasive surgery for lung cancer, and are considered pioneers for lung transplantation for rare types of lung can! cer.
We value the profound impact our Clinical Nurse ! Educators have on clinical staff competency, education and the practice environment, and ultimately patient and family outcomes. As a UCH Clinical Nurse Educator, you are responsible for the coordination, instruction, supervision, and evaluation of educational experiences for our exceptional nurses. This person will collaborate with the nurse manager to ensure our ambulatory nurses maintain the high standards of care of a 3-time Magnet designated hospital.
Applicants:
Must hold a BSN degree from an NLNAC or CCNE accredited program; MSN preferred or current enrollment in an MSN program
Must have an active CO RN license, or able to obtain one
Minimum two to three years recent, well-rounded RN experience with pulmonary/respiratory patients in an inpatient hospital setting
Previous leadership/educator experience strongly preferred
Internal candidates - advancement to Level III in our UCH UEXCEL Professional Practice Progra! m preferred
This is an exempt (salaried) position for 36 hours per week
