Under general supervision, assists provider including all back office duties. Provides n! ursing support with various functions such as; invasive procedures, medication administration, performing appointment and registration scheduling functions. Assists the RN with clinical clerical functions. Ensures smooth work and patient flow within the clinic.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Graduate from an accredited program in Medical Office Assisting, accredited program of Licensed Practical Nursing with an active LPN license, or completion of the 1997 DHH Health Care Partner internal training program. Experience: Typically, one year experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of medical office practice. Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures. Knowledge of and the ability to use medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. Skill in assisting in a variety of treatments as directed. Skill in taking vi! tal signs. Skill in maintaining records and recording test res! ults. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, employees, physicians and the public. Ability to maintain quality control standards. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures. Ability to communicate clearly. Ability to use computers and computer systems. Bilingual skills preferred. Certifications and Licenses: MA or LPN. Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers certification.
