RN - Stroke Coordinator

The Stroke Coordinator is responsible for ensuring excellence in clinical practice in neurology related services and care across the Memorial Health System, with an emph! asis on adult stroke patients. This role includes the development, implementation, education, and evaluation of policies, procedures, standards, and regulations regarding stroke care. Coordinates Outreach and clinical follow-up for referring facilities and physicians. Manages human, fiscal and other resources as needed. The Stroke Coordinator is a registered practice nurse who is an expert in clinical nursing practice for the adult acute care patient population. This position functions as a leadership position, combining the roles of expert clinician, educator and consultant. This individual acts as a resource, facilitator and change agent in the pursuit of improved nursing practice and quality of patient care and is accountable for the quality and coordination of interdisciplinary care, delivery of best practice, staff development, utilization review and cost management. The Stroke/Coordinator will report to the Nursing Director of Acute Care Services for nursing practice ! and professional behavior.
Minimum Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Current Registered Nurse license in State of Colorado or willing to obtain Colorado license; BLS
Minimum Experience:
At least 3 years direct nursing experience with emphasis in neurology or stroke.
Strength (Medium Work): Exerting 20 to 50 lbs of force occasionally, or 10 to 25 lbs of force frequently, or greater than negligible up to 10 lbs of force constantly to move objects.
