Registered Nurse - PACU/OCC/ENDO

Description: Boulder Community Hospital is currently seeking to employ Registered Nurse - PACU/OCC/ENDO right now, this position will be placed in Colorado. More complete informations about this position opportunity kindly read the description below. Coordinates total nursing care for the peri-operative procedure patient. Provides intensive observation and care for the pre- and post-operative proced! ure patient for which an anesthetic agent or moderate sedation was used. Endoscopy RN - Assists physician/monitors patient intra procedure.
Job Qualifications
Education or Formal Training
Special Qualifications (licensure, registration, etc.)
1. Colorado RN license in good standing
2. BLS certification required within three months of hire
3. ACLS certification required within six months of hire
4. Member of professional organization encouraged
5. Certification encouraged
Knowledge, Skill and Ability
1. Demonstrated physical and mental ability to apply nursing theories, procedures and standards to clinical practice.
2. Must assume call responsibilities (exception: PST RN)
3. Must be flexible to rotate shifts and adjust hours as needed
Experience
Previous experience in Endoscopy, PACU or adult critical care preferred
Materials and Equipment Directly Used
1. Standard equipment including: cardiac moni! toring, airway equipment, non-invasive monitoring devices, pyx! is, IV pumps, hospital beds, wheelchairs and carts, phone and intercom systems, computers, etc.
2. PACU RN- Epidural pumps, CPM, clippers, athrombic pumps, invasive monitoring and autotransfusion devices, and lumbar drains
3. Endoscopy RN- laser, endoscopes, video equipment/light source, cautery, equipment used through endoscopes
Working Environment/Physical Activities
1. Physical working environment may include, but not be limited to, any of the following hazards: chemicals, electrical, mechanical, biowaste, explosive, radiation, laser, laser plume, stress, back strain, body fluids, etc.
2. Environmental conditions may include, but not be limited to, variations in temperature, noise, odors, multi-stimuli, etc.
3. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to constantly stand and walk. The employee frequently is required to stoop, crouch and twist. The employee is occasionally required to kneel, squat and sit.
4. The employ! ee must be able to consistently support, push, pull and/or lift up to 10 pounds, frequently support, push, pull and/or lift up to 30 pounds and occasionally support, push, pull and/or transfer up to 50 pounds (for example, moving a patient from a wheelchair to a bed).
5. Functional physical demands include manual dexterity, fine motor skills and reaching.
6. The following senses will be needed for essential duties of the job: speech, vision, hearing, smell and touch.
7. May have to work for more hours than scheduled on a day of call duty.
