DSST Public Schools (DSST) seeks a Office Manager to join one of the leading charter school organizations in Colora! do. The Office Manager needs to embody strong character, a passion for excellence, a relentless commitment to student achievement, and a willingness to take risks. An ability to create systems and structures and a desire to work relentlessly to support exceptional student achievement are necessary to succeed in this position. The Founding Office Manager will get a chance to found DSST: Conservatory Green or DSST: Cole High School.

DSST Public Schools Overview:
DSST Public Schools (DSST) is a network of 6-12th grade open-enrollment STEM charter schools and is part of the Denver Public Schools (DPS) system. This fall, DSST will serve approximately 2,100 students with six schools on four campuses. DSST has been approved to open four additional schools on three campuses over the next five years. At full enrollment, DSST Public Schools will serve over 4,400 students, and will help to nearly double the number of four-year college-ready DPS graduates by 2020. 1! 00% of DSST seniors have earned acceptance to four year colleg! e. DSST students have the 5th lowest remediation rate of all public and private schools in Colorado. The continued success of the DSST network has gained local and national attention, including recognition as one of three top finalists in the 2010 President’s Commencement Challenge, and a 2010 appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show when Oprah’s Angel Network awarded one million dollars to DSST as one of six top charter school networks nationally.

Responsibilities : Demonstrated track record of the following experience and skills:
School Start-Up
Create and implement systems to support school start-up including registration enrollment, teacher training and staff communication
Creat! e and manage school calendars and shared resource arrangements as neede! d
Assist director with school layout and design, including penants, flags, other decorations, positioning of admin furniture and business machines
Communicating start-up needs to home office operations staff as needed in consultation with school director.
Front-Desk
Primary coverage of the front desk
Performing general greeting, answering of phone inquiries and student front desk service
Creating, maintaining, and updating student records and files, as mandated by Denver Public Schools and the Department of Education
Assisting school administrative staff and overseeing admissions procedures
Attendance
Checking attendance phone and emails
Completing daily attendance
Sending daily attendance reports and weekly tardy reports
Following correct protocols for coding of student attendance
College-Prep/Attendance/Refocus
Printing, hanging and emailing CP/Attendance/Refocus lists according to weekly schedule
Sending automat! ed CP/Attendance/Refocus calls to parents/guardians according to weekly schedule
Student Tech Lab and Damage Fees
Logging students visiting tech lab
Entering tech lab damage fees in IC on daily basis
Sending courtesy damage fee statements to families on daily basis
Communications Role
Sending routine communications to students, faculty, and staff
Proof reading and checking school communications for accuracy
Generating school posters, flyers and perform minor updates in documents as needed
Communicating to families and visitors
Providing verbal feedback in a professional manner
Ensuring the school’s website content is accurate and up to date
Student Health Role
Performing routine log in of students to health office and student health services under direct supervision of supervisor as delegated by nurse
Generating student accident reports and logs them under direct supervision
Performing assigned emergency response! tasks
Providing supervision for student activities during the day !
School Finance Role
Accepting student payments and enters them in IC as payments are received
Performing daily close out of school money transactions and performs required documentation under direct supervision
Sending monthly invoice reminders or other basic school finance communications
May generate new fees and perform weekly deposits under supervision
Experience Required: DSST Public Schools seeks candidates with a successful record of providing a high level of customer service, strong communication and interpersonal skills, incredible attention to detail, ability to multi-task, strong organizational skills, experience with Microsoft Office, and a desire to work with middle school students and families. The ability to communicate fluently in Spanish is required.

Physical and Mental Demands: Requires prolonged standing or bending and a normal range of hearing and vision, and occasionally lifting and carrying items weighing u! p to 50 pounds.
