A Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse, also known as Post-Anesthesia Recovery (PAR) Nurse or Postoperative Care Unit Nurse, cares for patients following surgery. PACU staff provides care for patients recovering from general, regional, or local anesthesia. The Post Anesthesia Care Unit Nurse should have a thorough knowledge of pain medication and be able to use their own judgment of a patientâ! €™s pain.
Duties of a Post Anesthesia Registered Nurs! e include changing the patient’s dressing, inhaling exercises, and pain management.
