Graphic Designer


 

Position Summary

Graphic Designers are artistic and creative and have strong verbal, visual and written communication skills. Often work with both text and images. They often work independently and must meet strict deadlines. It is important to have the ability to manage time and stay on schedule. Business, branding, marketing, and sales skills are also important skill set.

Essential Functions and Duties

  • Acknowledge and adhere to the Company policies

  • Maintain knowledge of the Company brand standards
  • Effectively communicate with all levels of the Company personnel
  • Availability to work overtime if needed to meet deadlines
  • Oversee assignments from conception to delivery
  • Liaise with marketing and cross functional teams regarding deadlines, reviews, approvals and press checks.
  • Consistently deliver a high level of customer service
  • Work simultaneously on multiple projects based on current business needs
  • Create visual aspects of marketing materials for both print or digital, including infographics
  • Consult with marketing and/or internal teams to create cohesive designs that reflect company cultures and goals
  • Review content and make suggestions for improvements
  • Work with a wide range of media and use various graphic design software
  • Think creatively and develop new design concepts, graphics, and layouts in line with business objectives and effectively emphasize the value propositions.

  • Comply with the policies and procedures stated in the Injury and Illness Prevention Program by always working in a safe manner and immediately reporting any injury, safety hazard, or program violation.
  • Ensure conduct is consistent with all Compliance Program Policies and procedures when engaging in any activity on behalf of the company. Immediately report any concerns or violations.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree; preferably in Graphic Design

Required Knowledge:

  • Knowledge in, or willingness to learn, digital design tools and platforms
  • Fundamental marketing and branding principals
  • Abreast of current graphic design trends
  • Pharmaceuticals or healthcare industry experience a plus

Required Experience:

  • Must have at least four (4)+ years in professional commercial design, preferably with a marketing or creative agency
  • Demonstrate success managing projects, including planning and bringing projects of various size, scope and complexity to completion within assigned deadlines.
  • Experience supporting marketing and sales teams, various cross-functional and internal teams, as well as external customers and vendors.
  • Extensive experience with Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, and multimedia presentation with a strong portfolio preferred. Motion graphics experience a plus.

Physical requirements

Vision, hearing, speech, movements requiring the use of wrists, hands and/or fingers. Must have the ability to view a computer screen for long periods and the ability to sit for extended periods. Must have the ability to work the hours and days required to complete the essential functions of the position, as scheduled. The employee occasionally lifts up to 20 lbs. and occasionally kneels and bends. Must have the ability to travel occasionally. Working condition include normal office setting/warehouse.

Mental Demands

Learning, thinking, concentration and the ability to work under pressure, particularly during busy times. Must be able to pay close attention to detail and be able to work as a member of a team to ensure excellent customer service. Must have the ability to interact effectively with co-workers and customers, and exercise self-control and diplomacy in customer and employee relations’ situations. Must have the ability to exercise discretion as well as appropriate judgments when necessary. Must be proactive in finding solutions.
