Job Summary: Reports to the Patient Access Supervisor, Manager and or Director is responsible for verifying account information after registration. Notification of admission is made to Insurance Companies/IPA/Workers’ Comp Agencies. Obtain tracking or certification numbers during notification process. Responsible in tracking and monitoring errors to provide ongoing education with the staff during the review process.
Essential Job Duties:
- Verification in demographic data to ensure information was entered correctly in the patients account.
- Review eligibility information to validate its accuracy and verify that the plan code and the certificate or member number have been entered correctly.
- Notify payor upon patient admission to our facility and obtain a certification and or tracking number
- Document detail insurance information and or changes pertaining to the patients registration.
- Provide education to the staff when errors or pattern of errors occur.
- Provide Case Management with information to assist placing or transferring a patient

Education/Experience:
- High school graduate or job-related work experience equivalent
- 2 to 3 years of hospital Admitting experience preferred.
Licensure/Certifications:
- BCLS Required AB508 Training required when working the Emergency Department
