Part-time Payroll Specialist (20 hours / week)


 

Position Description

Under general supervision from the Managing Director of Human Resources, the Payroll Specialist processes semi-monthly payroll, off-cycle payroll, monthly salary allocation preparation, and data entry.

This is a part-time position with a variable schedule to coincide with payroll processing workdays, which are usually the 3rd - 6th and 18th – 21st of each month. Incumbent must be able to adjust schedule to accommodate payroll processing.

Essential Functions

    Manage the processing of semi-monthly payroll, including benefit tracking and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and maintain semi-monthly timecard and payroll records in a secure and organized manner.
  • Manage annual W2 processing.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Major Duties

  • Work collaboratively with Human Resources, Finance, program staff, and senior management to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll.
  • Promptly respond to questions regarding pay statement from program staff and management.
  • Serve as subject matter expert regarding ADP Workforce Now.
  • Create or process ad hoc reporting using ADP Workforce Now.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two years payroll processing experience including both exempt and non-exempt payroll.
  • Excellent knowledge of state and federal laws with regard to payroll processing and pay of employees.
  • One year experience with ADP software, including Workforce Now.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel & Outlook skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with all levels of staff.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Ability to exercise discretion in the handling of confidential information.
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19, complete with booster shot and able to show proof of vaccination.
  • Up-to-date with vaccinations, especially seasonal flu shot vaccine
  • Proof of TB clearance (issued within the past 12 months or less)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to influence and collaborate in a diverse and cross-functional workplace.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Experience in an FQHC organization
  • Experience in a non-profit community-based organization
