Manages programs and oversee component projects to ensure program budget, schedule, scope and perfor! mance requirements are met.
Manages and mentoring EPMO Project Managers, evaluating project and program performances and providing project and program management delivery best practices.
Manages continuous improvement for project management delivery.
Essential Duties:
Collaborates with all levels of project business sponsors (executive to managers) to determine user requirements/project criticality/risk/urgency; assignment and management of projects and project managers.
Works with Portfolio Management to coordinate assignment and availability of appropriate resources and tools for projects/programs.
Prepare and execute program plans to align the program outcomes with stakeholder expectations and standards. Ensures appropriate program and project governance is in place,
Develop and effectively manage program budgets and track costs. Assists in the development of annual operating and capital budgets, monitors a! nd analyzes performance and productivity and implements necess! ary corrective plans. Collaborates with other departments in budget preparation, determining capital priorities, monitoring and analyzing trends.
Maintains a program level schedule and critical path that allows drill down to project level schedules. All interfaces among component projects and those external to the program are identified, tracked, and controlled.
Manage program risks and issues, determining a course of action, considering constraints and objectives enabling continued program progress.
Responsible for the projects within a program and individual projects as required
Capture and report program status and data in the PMIS. Ensure PMIS program data accuracy, timeliness and integrity, (e.g. schedule, cost, resources, risks.
Manage program change in accordance with the change management process to control scope, quality, schedule, cost, benefits, and contracts.
Establish alliances with other departments and org! anizations by recognizing dependencies in order to assess potential partnership and commitment to the program to include OE and other touch point organizations. Support benefits tracking by Strategic Priority Measurements and others as required.
Assembles, advises, evaluates, restructures and coaches project/program teams in a complex environment and those project managers assigned.
Communicates EPMO vision and efforts with senior leadership for programs.
Responsible for career development of PMâs. Evaluates employee and department performance against established goals and objectives.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor of Science degree in business administration, nursing, and/or equivalent required.
May substitute an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
12-15
years of project management and standards experience including:
12 + years Experience! in project management
8 + years Experience with project manag! ement applications (e.g., Microsoft Project Pro/Server, Clarity, Primavera) and ERP systems
7 + years leading large scale, complex projects and programs
5 + years experience managing other PM staff required
Healthcare industry experience is preferred.
Experience with leading implementation of project
management best
practices and frameworks such as PMI or CMMI required.
Ability to assemble, advise, evaluate, restructure and coach project/program teams in complex environment.
Change Management and Leadership experience required.
Project Management Certification through PMI or other accredited institution is required.
Experience developing EPMO Performance Measurement baselines.
Adapt and comfortable interacting and communicating effectively in writing and verbally to executive levels of the organization.
Comfortable with meeting and advising all levels of senior manage! ment.
License/Certification:
Project Management Certification through PMI or other accredited institution is required.
Completion of CHI project management certification course to use CHI project management methodology and tools in first six months is required.
Additional Responsibilities:
Works closely with VP, EPMO and EPMO team to ensure consistency.
Establishes and maintains working relationships with business and technology partners to continuously identify EPMO improvement areas.
Collaborates with the Change Leadership Team to understand CHIâs capacity for change.
Works with the Quality Assurance Manager/Analyst to ensure projects are managed in accordance to the EPMOâs performance metrics.
Works with EPMO Coach/Trainer to ensure all Project managers are trained/proficient in the latest Project Lifecycle Process.
Works hand in hand with business partners to hear voice of ! the customer and ensure smooth transitions from project to standardized! work process.
