Description of Job:
We are seeking an exceptional individual for the Nurse III (Nurse Supervisor) position within our facility. Our ideal candidiate is a caring lea! der who will supervise, guide, and direct professional skilled! nursing activities in a mental health setting that include: acute care, chronic support, assessment, and interventions. Although this position is a supervisor responsible for a specific shift, (Nurse IIIs are assigned to 2nd or 3rd shifts), this individual may be required to work any shift, including weekends and holidays.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Direct supervision of assigned staff through performance management, dispute resolution, work scheduling, and leave. Performing other related duties as assigned or required.
Identification of patient needs and assessment.
Develop and maintain patient charts/records.
Maintain security of equipment, supplies, medication and records.
Implementation of nursing procedures.
Participation in 1:1 and/or group therapy sessions.
Serving on multidisciplinary teams.
Maintaining compliance of documentation utilizing applicable logs, records, policies and proce! dures.
Assisting in the formulation and implementation of quality assurance monitors to assure compliance with outside accrediting agencies and provide corrective action as required.
Documents both handwritten or electronically in an accurate and timely manner to provide comprehensive patient medical records.
Performs routine and emergency physical, emotional assessments on patients and emergency situations using basic nursing skills, physical assessment skills, and nursing protocols.
Responsible for approving leave and scheduling, Performance Management Plans/Evaluations (PMP), including progressive discipline; accountable for completion of shift responsibilities; point person for daily operations and decisions in a work setting; assigns nursing staff, coordinates staff orientation, and rearranges and reorganizes unit routines, assists in hiring, participates in promotional examinations and disciplinary recommendations.
Performs other related nursing du! ties per licenusre as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Three (3) years of professional nursing experience*, which must include one (1) year of nursing supervisory experience . * Professional Nursing Experience is defined as work experience as a Registered Nurse. Possession of a valid, active Registered Nurse License issued by the State of Colorado or any State participating in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) Substitution:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) may substitute for one year of the professional nursing experience, but not for the required one-year supervisory experience OR Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) may substitute for two ye! ars of professional nursing experience but not for the required one-year supervisory experience . * A copy of your official transcripts must be attached to to your application to receive credit for the substitutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Leadership experience as a Supervisor or Unit Manager
Specialized experience in a Behavioral Health, Forensic, or Geriatric Unit
Demonstrated ability to lead the shift through training, mentorship and development
Nursing experience as a Registered Nurse in mental health setting
A strong work ethic based on a foundation of: self-motivation, loyalty, honesty, and integrity
Dependable, responsible, and adaptable Required Competencies:
Ability to effectively supervise staff
Ability to effectively treat mental health patients
Ability to maintain required licensure/credentials
Knowledge of the nursing process to provide supervision and care for medical and psychiatric! patient needs.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule, day and evening shifts, weekends, and holidays and back-to-back shift and double shifts as needed.

Work in a secure facility in locked and unlocked environments.
